Our students report high levels of satisfaction with our courses. In the National Student Survey 2014:

Research excellence

We are a founding member of the Russell Group of 24 research-intensive universities.

In 2013/14 our research income was over £110m.

Our Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funding exceeded £200m in 2015, placing the University 6th nationally for the total value of grants.

In the latest Research Assessment Exercise (2014), we were ranked eighth in the UK for research intensity and 11th in the UK based on the volume and quality of our research.

Over 97 per cent of our research environment has been assessed as world-leading and internationally excellent (Research Assessment Exercise 2014).
