Microbiology is a great course and it’s exactly what I was expecting with coming to university, there are times when the work load becomes a bit much but then you’ve just got to make sure you organise things really well. I’m not too keen on the practicals as they could be improved. Campus Advisor
Birmingham as a city has grown on me and now I really love it, the halls are not too bad in first year but it’s more fun when you get to pick your own house in year 2 as you can then live with friends. Uni life is a big step up from school but it’s much more enjoyable. My course is really good as it allows me to choose lots of different modules/units which I can use towards my career. Im happy with the way things have gone in my degree, I’ve had lots of support when I’ve needed it on a personal front and academically it’s a very strong faculty, the only thing I think they need to work on is timetabling and feedback could be expanded. If you get involved in the student societies you will love your time at uni as you get to meet so many different people who are not just on your course. Campus Advisor
Very nice university with lots of friendly people. Societies are good and some great facilities. -Anonymous -
My course is quite demanding and requires a lot of work after hours, so you need to just be prepared for that at uni. Apart from that it’s all good. -Anonymous -
Organisation of the course could be better and you are left to do a lot of work on your own. The university though is really good and the city is so nice. -Anonymous -
Edinburgh is so amazing, I absolutely love this city. Nightlife is ok but scenery makes up for it!! D L

Went to the open day with a friend and we both loved the university. It looks like it's got decent teaching areas and everyone seems really friendly. Going to apply! Emma A
